If you still haven’t picked up Overwatch, this is yet another option for you to play it for free on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Overwatch will be having a free to play option this weekend from February 16th until February 19th.
“The free trial kicks off at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET and will feature all of Overwatch’s 26 heroes and 16 maps. Players will also be able to try “a variety of modes” during the free weekend, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and Arcade. Additionally, players can level up, earn loot boxes, and unlock cosmetic items for the duration of the event.”
According to Blizzard, if you play on the Xbox One or PS4, and you used your Blizzard, PSN or Xbox Live Account to play the game – your progress will be carried over IF you decide to purchase the game in the future.
Overwatch has announced that they will be having another Lunar New Year this year! The Overwatch event will kick off on February 9th.
The aptly named year Of The Dog event is, of course, a follow up to last years event of the Rooster. The Rooster brought in a lot of new skins, some sprays, and a few new emotes so its only safe to say that the Overwatch 2018 event for the Lunar New Year will also bring in some of the same items.
(Rooster: Year of the Rooster was a Lunar New Year-based seasonal event in Overwatch that started on January 24, 2017, and ended on February 13, 2017. The event included a new capture-the-flag brawl mode, Capture the Rooster, which takes place in a modified seasonal Lijiang Tower reskin.
The event also contained a Lunar New Year reskin of Lijiang Tower, 2 special ac...
Earlier last week, Overwatch announced that they will offer full 4k support for the Xbox One X. Sweet! But, they have also announced in this latest update, available today, that they will be adding balance for Mercy and Junkrat.
Most of the time hero balancing is done for your benefit, but if you play with Mercy or Junkrat a lot, you might notice a difference in how they play. This could be for the better – or the worse, it really depends on you the player and how you use your Hero’s in battle.
If you want to check out the latest patch notes for Overwatch, you can do so below – it also includes the changes in the 2 hero’s mentioned above.

Before we get to the topic of the Overwatch League, I am wondering how the heck or who the heck decides a game needs a league. Like, really. Tweet/PM me and let me know because I am genuinely curious.
Okay on to the Overwatch League topic for this article.
The Overwatch League is getting started and because of that Blizzard has released a brand new update for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Beyond just the common fixes, the game is also releasing 312 new skins for Overwatch and they are themed around the teams participating in the Overwatch League.
Each of the 26 characters in Overwatch will have 12 new skins.
But, wait. Before you get all super excited, there is a twist.
You cannot buy these Overwatch League skins with loot boxes. Sorry!
Instead, the only way you can purchase the Overwatch League ...
Gamers Elite already talked about Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2017 but now I actually have some content and images of what the event really looks like. If you played in last years event you should also know that this year the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2017 is significantly different in terms of new skins and content!
Originally when they (Blizzard) first shared the event we only knew about a few skins; Junkrat, Hanzo, and Roadhog. But, these skins for the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2017 event were not actually shown to us when they were first teased!
Now we get to see ALL of the new skins available – you can check out the images for each character below. But beyond just the new characters, the old characters also have some skins available for you as well.
Yesterday Gamers Elite talked about the Art of Sea Of Thieves book which features The Sea Of Thieves video game. Today, I want to talk about the Overwatch edition called The Art of Overwatch. The book actually comes in 3 different options – which are quite different, presentation wise.
The Art of Overwatch is a huge book – its in fact 8 lbs! The book contains all sorts of origin stories about the characters, skins, different chapters cover the heroes of the story, and you can also find promotional art in the book as well.
The 3 versions include:
The Art of Overwatch Limited Edition – Hardcover – October 24th
Overwatch has taken the world by storm, boasting millions of players and gaining critical acclaim...
The Overwatch event for Halloween is still going on, but in the meantime Blizzard has made a few changes and added an Overwatch Update for all platforms. While most of the update just adds a few changes to the game itself, there is also an adjustment to Mercy to further balance the character.
Following Mercy’s redevelopment in September, Blizzard is continuing to experiment with extra modifications to Mercy. With this brand-new patch, her Ultimate, Valkyrie, no longer impacts the cool-down of Resurrection. Rather, Valkyrie renders a 2nd charge of Resurrect, permitting her to possibly revive teammates back to back. This charge only lasts for the length of Valkyrie, and the end result is that she can use Resurrect fewer times than she could formerly.
Earlier Gamers Elite wrote about the Overwatch Halloween Terror Event, well, its now officially here! I love when games celebrate Halloween. I never remember this being done on older consoles like the Xbox 360 or Nintendo, so now that we have it, I never want it to go away!
“Celebrate the frightful season with a Halloween Terror Loot Box, filled with new skins, emotes, highlights, avatars, sprays, voice lines, and more. You can also purchase items you missed from last year’s event with credits for a discounted price. Over 140 cosmetic items are available, but don’t wait too long—these Loot Boxes will disappear in a puff of smoke before you know it.
For the next three weeks, we’re celebrating the spookiest time of the year with a seasonal event...
Like a lot of the other games out there, Overwatch is having yet another Halloween themed event. Its pretty much the same one as last year called Halloween terror. It will return later next week on October 10th and will run until the end of the month. You can see a sneak peek of the Trailer for Halloween Terror below.
It also shared the very brief teaser video above that shows off new Halloween-themed skins for McCree and Reaper, the latter of which already had an excellent one from last year’s event. The video was accompanied by a poem which reads: “The nights grow cold / And monsters appear / A great evil gathers / And Halloween draws near…”
So far no other information has been provided but people are hoping to see a return of Junkenstein’s Revenge which is a pretty good possbility cons...
Overwatch was one of those games that I bought because it’s a fun game – I played the beta and fell in love. It’s just a really goofy and fun game that I like to play when I need a break from my other favorite series like COD, NFS and Battlefield.
Since the release of the game, Overwatch now has 25 playable heroes and 4 of them were released since post-launch of the game.
The next and newest character will be Doomfist for Overwatch. On the 4th of July, a teaser was put out showcasing this hero.
An animated short was also created which showed you more information about Doomfist for Overwatch, what his backstory is and some other information like what his offense and defense weapons and abilities are. You can see the animated short for Dooomfist for Overwatch here
