The Best Portable Gaming Consoles Part 2

In an earlier article, I started to write Part 1 of the best portable gaming consoles. This blog will continue that topic.

You can read the previous choices here.

PlayStation Portable 3000 Core Pack System

This is like the one I had, but I had a PSP and it was so much fun. I remember when I first bought it, it was with my Christmas money, many many moons ago and I had a ton of gaming time on it. “The PSP-3000 PlayStation Portable offers a beautiful screen that is brighter than ever, giving you a multitude of entertainment options on the go. Play games, listen to music, connect to the Internet, watch movies, and do more, all in a sleek compact package that you can easily bring with you wherever you go.”

This specific one is used. However, if you want something brand spanking new, then you should go with the option below.

Sony PlayStation Vita WiFi

This one is brand new but its considerably more money than the used one above. The PS Vita Wifi has over 1000 games available, it offers remote play, you can play over a gaming wifi network and it includes some popular entertainment apps. Its also designed for superior gameplay. This means that the overall design of the PS Vita it comfortable to hold and yet it offers all the features and options you would expect to find on a portable gaming console. “Take the greatness of PlayStation on the go with the Ultimate Gamer’s Companion. On the PlayStation Vita system, gamers can play over 1,000 PlayStation games, stream PS4 games via Remote Play, and stream PS3games via PS Now. This slim and sleek device also features a more immersive gaming experience away from your console and TV.”

Nintendo Switch

This is one of the newest and most mainstream of portable gaming consoles. It’s also something that I am seriously considering getting myself pretty soon. Maybe Christmas when all the sales happen! There are 2 main options. An all gray one. Or a “red” and blue one. To be honest, it has an orange salmon like color to it, not bold red. My cousin got one and brought it over and it was NOT what I was expecting. The colors are different. However, the screen? Is freaking massive. This is not your usual portable gaming console screen.

Size: Approximately 4 inches high, 9.4 inches long, and 0.55 inches deep (with Joy-Con attached)

Weight: Approximately .66 lbs

Screen: Multi-touch capacitive touch screen / 6.2-inch LCD Screen / 1280 x 720

CPU: NVIDIA Custom Tegra processor

Storage: 32 GB of internal storage, a portion of which is reserved for use by the system. Users can easily expand storage space using microSDHC or microSDXC cards up to 2TB (sold separately).

Networking: Nintendo Switch can be connected to the Internet via a wireless (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth 4.1

To say that this is a unique portable gaming console is an understatement.

Nintendo Galaxy Style Nintendo New 3DS XL Console

This one comes in a few color options; Galaxy, Black, Red, and Yellow (Pikachu) they can all be viewed below.

“The New Nintendo 3DS XL system combines next-generation portable gaming with super-stable 3D technology and added control features. Take 3D photos, connect with friends, and enhance your gaming experiences with added amiibo support. The New Nintendo 3DS XL system plays all Nintendo DS games.”

This one sells like hotcakes. I would dare to say that while they are both Nintendo, the 3DSXL and the Switch are definitely in competition with each other. Its crazy though because the Switch just came out this year and the 3DS is a few years old. Nonetheless, people still love it!
