3 Racing Games Coming Out In 2017 You Don’t Know About

One of the things I really love about racing games is the fact that they are all different and all cater to different people. Need For Speed, for instance, is known for death defying physics, drifting, and the ability to crash into other cars or police cars. Forza Motorsport, for me, is more about the rigid structure of a real race – staying between the lines, not going off the track – I find it to be more serious when it comes to gaming revolving around cars. But if you think Need For Speed and Forza Motorsport are the only driving and racing games, you are sadly mistaken!

In fact, there are a ton of racing games coming out in 2017, but there are 3 you might not be aware of. This specific blog is about those games, pre-order links, different versions available, what these special editions include and more. So without further ado lets take a look at racing games coming out in 2017 you might not know about!

GT Sport – Gran Turismo Sport

Gran Turismo should be a title that everyone knows – even if you are an Xbox lover. Look at me for instance, i have had more Xbox consoles than PlayStation and my last 15 years of my life have revolved around Xbox’s, but nonetheless, I still had a PlayStation and I know what GT is! If you don’t:

Summary: “The appeal of the Gran Turismo series is due significantly to pristine graphics, a large number of licensed vehicles, attention to vehicle detail, accurate driving physics emulation, and the ability to tune performance. Handling of the vehicles is modeled on real-life driving impressions, tuning is based on principles of physics, and the sound of the vehicle’s engine is based on recordings of the actual vehicles. The game has been a flagship for the PlayStation console’s graphics capabilities, and is often used to demonstrate the system’s potential.”

The very first game was created way back in December 23, 1997 on Playstation Original. A new Gran Turismo is comoing out in 2017.

2 versions will be available; a Limited edition and a Standard Edition:

Even though this is the first game that is coming out in year, its still expected to be one of the best racing games coming out in 2017.  If it flops, I will be super-duper-surprised!  Just like with NFS, FM, FH, etc GT has a major following.

If you have any doubt that 2017 is the year for racing and car games – I think after this list you will start thinking a little different. Like with GT, NASCAR Heat has a pretty big following and yet they have not had a game come out in years. For GT it was 3 years. For NASCAR Heat its been… 17 years you guys. 17 YEARS! “NASCAR Heat is a 2000 racing video game for the PlayStation, Microsoft Windows and Game Boy Color. It was developed by Monster Games and published by Hasbro Interactive. The PlayStation version was co-developed with Digital Illusions CE.”

NASCAR heat 2 is coming out this year and that is why its on the list for racing games coming out in 2017. 17 years. Wow. Well, hopefully they do really well because they had 17 years to figure it out haha jk.

This is a mouthful, but here is the summat for the 2nd title in the series:

“NASCAR Heat 2 is an upcoming racing video game being developed by Monster Games and published by 704Games. It is the sequel to NASCAR Heat Evolution, and will be released in North America on September 12, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows via Steam. Kyle Busch will be featured on the cover.

On June 11, 2017, it was confirmed that the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be featured in the game, for the first time since 2008’s EA Sports NASCAR 09. Truck and Xfinity stand alone tracks including Eldora Speedway will be featured.

The other stand alone tracks being added from include Iowa Speedway, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Gateway Motorsports Park, Road America, and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. All three series’ will be playable online, the player can race his or her way up through the ranks to conquer the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.”

One of the great things about this game is that you don’t necessarily have to be a fan of the first game or even played it. Its freaking NASCAR. Everyone loves NASCAR!

That’s right. The 2nd title will not only be available on PC and PlayStation but Xbox One as well.

F1 2017

Another one of the racing games coming out in 2017 you might not be aware of is F1 racing – 2017. Xbox Game Pass just recently released an F1 game and everyone was like “um, this game is so old, WHY would you add this!” My reply: Because a new F1 is coming out and they want to remind everyone how awesome this game was. Now as mentioned before, I don’t really like these rigid, stay on the track racing games.

I do, however, like really fast cars which is why I will totally admit I played F1 2010 which was released on Xbox 360. Given the constrictions of technology available back then, the game was really fun and I loved the cars, the scenery, and the game over all. So when I saw the 2017 version was coming out, I was pretty excited.

“F1 2017 is a racing video game being developed and published by Codemasters and set to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows on 25 August 2017. The game is based on the 2017 Formula One season and includes all of the twenty circuits, twenty drivers and ten teams. The game is also set to feature the return of classic Formula One cars, which were last included in F1 2013. F1 2017 is the ninth installment in the Formula One video games franchise developed by Codemasters.”

This F1 will be released on August 25, 2017. It might not be the most popular racing games coming out in 2017, but I think they will do quite well. I mean, its Formula 1 racing, how could it not to do well. I will say that since all these other big dogs are coming out with racing games – Need For Speed, The Crew in 2018 and Forza, that F1 will really have a lot of competition!

F1 2017 – PlayStation 4
F1 2017 – Xbox One

Well, that ends the list of racing games coming out in 2017 you might not know about. Be on the look out for other racing and car games on Gamers Elite because there are going to be a lot of blogs, reviews and news floating around about this topic.
