Holiday Sales: Nintendo Switch Is Focussing On Demand Not Discounts

Over the past few weeks Gamers Elite has been doing a lot of Black Friday Sales articles, console specific discounts for Christmas, and games. But, the one thing I have never done is Nintendo Switch – and there’s a reason for that. While Xbox and PlayStation are already pretty well-known to people, Nintendo Switch is still a pretty new console. Nintendo has already made a statement that they will NOT be having any discounts on consoles for Black Friday or for Christmas.

Instead, they plan on focussing on supply and demand. Over the past few months since the Nintendo Switch was released a lot of people have complained that they could not find the console for sale… anywhere! Because of this Nintendo has made quite a few statements that they will be focussing more and more on supply and demand.

In fact, in one statement, they said that they would be ramping up their supply to 20 to 22million consoles for 2017 alone.

Because of this, you probably won’t be seeing any Nintendo Switch consoles on sale anytime soon. But, to be honest, I really don’t think its that big of a deal. If you take a look at some of the other consoles available, the price of $299 for the Nintendo Switch, really is low compared to the Xbox One X, and new Playstation Consoles.

Nintendo Switch – $299
Xbox One X 1TB Console – $499
Xbox One X 1TB Limited Edition Console – Project Scorpio Edition – $679
Xbox One 500GB Console – $266
PlayStation 4 Slim 1TB Limited Edition Console – $319
PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB Console – $399

As you can clearly see from the prices above, the ONLY console that is lower than the Nintendo Switch is the 500GB Xbox One – which is from almost 4 years ago. Really, the $299 price tag for the Switch is pretty fair for what you get.

As of right now there are 519 games available
57 of which are exclusive
14 of which are Nintendo Exclusive
415 are multi-platform

They include games such as 99Vidas, BackSlash (coming soon), Blaster Master Zero, The Escapists 2, Golf Story, Little Inferno, Pokkén Tournament DX, Runbow and more.
