December 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the original Mega Man. To be honest, while I have played many different games in my life; Mega Man just never did anything for me. Sorry, guys! My best friend played it though and was addicted to it, so I tended to just watch her play it and that was about it. Even though I never really got into it, I do appreciate the fact that a game such as Mega Man is still around and popular today.
Cpacom recently announced in a stream a few very cool announcements.
First off, Mega Man 11 will be coming to PC, Switch, Xbox One and PS4 in late 2018.
Secondly, all of the original 8 other Mega Man games which are incredibly hard to come by, will be coming to the most popular platforms, very soon. I am assuming this means Xbox One and PS4, but I don’t know about Switch.
Thirdly, they also released a brand spanking new trailer! You can see that below:
Over the years the style of Mega Man has changed significantly. This time for Mega Man 11 coming out in 2018, they are creating what looks to be almost like a Mario-esque side-scroller. Also, the whole 8-bit style that they used in previous games is now gone. As you can clearly see in the video above; it’s much smoother, cleaner and well-defined. Hey, good for them. Times are a-changin’ and while everyone liked the 8bit style, maybe its time for something different.
It should also be noted that besides all the awesome news about Mega Man 11 above (and past single games), there will be TWO Mega Man Legacy collections coming to consoles in 2018 as well.
The first collection includes Mega Man 1 through 6, while the second will have Mega Man 7 through 10 plus DLC for the last two games in the series.
So far nothing is available for pre-order, but as soon as there is any word of being able to pre-order you will definitely find that information on Gamers Elite!
