Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor was the very first game in the series – it was seriously acclaimed as being one of the best games in 2014 when it was first released and one of the reasons around that is because its technically a Lord of The Rings based game. If you watch those movies or read the books you know JUST how popular LOTR really is so its no surprise that a game purporting to be a LOTR based game would also do so well. In the United States in 2014 it was the 9th best selling game and it was #2 in the first week on the UK retail list. Needless to say it was a very well-rounded game.
As one would expect, the next game, in this case Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War had some pretty big shoes to fill. Its probably a good thing they took 3 years to continue the legacy of Middle Earth and hopefully create a really fantastic game, that will be even more popular.
The release of Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War will be on October 10th 2017, so you do still have a little time to reserve it!
Yes, there will be a mobile version of the game!
Summary of Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War: “Shadow of War continues the previous game’s narrative, which is based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s legendarium and set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Like its predecessor, the game also takes heavy inspiration from director Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings film adaptations. The player continues the story of the ranger Talion and the spirit of the elf lord Celebrimbor, who shares Talion’s body, as they forge a new Ring of Power to amass an army to fight against Sauron. The game builds upon the “Nemesis System” introduced in Shadow of Mordor, allowing Talion to gain followers from several races of Middle-earth, including Orcs and Trolls, and plan out complex strategies using these to complete missions.”
Sounds simple enough. Willl there be any major diference between the first and second game?
– The Nemesis system is supposed to work even better than it did in the original game
– The sequel will have an action-role-playing approach, creating a more personalized experience for each player.
– It will also feature dynamic weather system as well as day-night cycle which effects the gameplay.
– Players will be able to transfer their top Nemesis and their most loyal follower from Shadow of Mordor into Shadow of War.
