When you play a game, like COD, as much as I do; you have those guns that are just your go to guns. Not even just Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare, but any COD or any BF game. For example, in the original black ops, everyone raved about how amazing the Commando was. But for me, there were 4 guns I always went back to again and again, and it was not the Commando!
Then again, shooting a gun in a game is very similar to driving a car in a game – they have the same aspect of skill, for me anyway. Take the Mustang in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. No one I played with ever liked the Mustang. Its too clunky. Its too big. It swerves. Nah. Not for me. It drove perfectly! Same thing goes with guns. One that you love, might be one I seriously suck at using. Its part user, part gun skills.
In Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare i have a handful of guns I love. They are easy to shoot – I tend to like automatics over single shot or burst, they maneuver well, and they get me the kills I need to stay at the top of the board. These guns include fan favorites, as well as guns some people don’t like. They include:
NV4 – Duh. Everyone likes this gun. I have gotten a majority of my kills using this bad boy. “Full-auto ballistic rifle. A moderate fire rate yields increased stability for best-in-class accuracy. Ideal for mid-to-long range engagements.” I have around 12 different variants for this gun, but I really like using the Prosperity and its an MK2 on top of that so I get that extra XP.
KBAR32: “Full-auto ballistic rifle. Channels a fast fire rate through a lightweight mold for increased hip fire control and mobility.” This is in both regular Multiplayer as well as Zombies. Its a fantastic gun. Favorite variant: String Theory – extra XP plus double kills instantly refill the mag.
X-Eon: “Full-auto ballistic rifle. Channels a fast fire rate through a lightweight mold for increased hip fire control and mobility.” Another really good gun, I use a regular lens on it though because I hate hate hate the lens it comes with!
R3KT: This is the automatic R3K. Its one of the first variants that I bought with scrap because I really like the regular gun, but I hate that burst crap haha. The R3KT changes the weapon quite dramatically from its base component. First we have the Stockpile perk. This gives the weapon an extra 20% to its magazine capacity, bringing the mag up to 36. This is a nice boost as the gun is an energy weapon and doesn’t have access to the extended mags attachment. However, the Break Point perk is the better one. It makes the R3KT fire fully automatic and reduces the weapon’s recoil.
MacTav 45 aka UMP: The UMP45 is a sub-machine gun featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Find Makarov, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty Online and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. It was cut from Call of Duty: Ghosts. The NV4 is the gun I have the most kills with, the MacTav is the gun i have the second most kills with. I use it constantly.
New Favorite: Type 2 Atomic MK2: Here’s the thing. This is my last gun to get gold in the assault rifles, as a normal person not a lifer (a lifer: Someone who has no life and ONLY plays COD and nothing else). I had such a hard time figuring out what to put on this damn thing. I mean what the hell – its so…. ugh. The recoil really sucks. But I finally found 2 set ups I really like.

Now I know what you’re thinking, the type 2 with a suppressor? Ooph. But, it works well for me! As per always, I use dexterity for faster reload – its good for those of us that don’t spend 100% of the time in the air, and I use gung ho because I like the fact that I can shoot while running – I pretty much always use the same set up on every COD, not just Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare.
