Earlier Gamers Elite wrote about the Overwatch Halloween Terror Event, well, its now officially here! I love when games celebrate Halloween. I never remember this being done on older consoles like the Xbox 360 or Nintendo, so now that we have it, I never want it to go away!
“Celebrate the frightful season with a Halloween Terror Loot Box, filled with new skins, emotes, highlights, avatars, sprays, voice lines, and more. You can also purchase items you missed from last year’s event with credits for a discounted price. Over 140 cosmetic items are available, but don’t wait too long—these Loot Boxes will disappear in a puff of smoke before you know it.
For the next three weeks, we’re celebrating the spookiest time of the year with a seasonal event. Expand your collection of seasonal-themed items and relive a chilling tale in our PvE brawl: Junkenstein’s Revenge.
This year, we’ve added a new endless mode for Junkenstein’s Revenge, with leaderboards to commemorate those who last the longest in their fight against the evil doctor. Plus, unlock over 50 new seasonal items—including new legendary skins like Dracula Reaper, Van Helsing McCree, Totally 80’s Zarya, and Dragon Symmetra—alongside last year’s Halloween Terror gear.”
Loot Boxes can be purchased online via the platform you are playing on or they can be earned.
According to Blizzard the Overwatch Halloween Terror Event will bring players new skins for their characters, loot boxes that are Halloween themes, voice lines, emotes, highlight introductions and more – ALL Halloween themed.
The themed boxes not only feature Halloween items from 2017, but 2016 as well. You can see the different skins throughout this article. Overwatch Halloween Terror Event will start today and end on November 2nd. Since this Overwatch Halloween Terror Event was available back in 2016 – people really loved it, so I know a lot of people were also hoping that this year would have the event as well.
I think comparing last years event to this years event is quite different. Last year I believe the event only had around 50 items.
This year, the Overwatch Halloween Terror Event boasts a whopping 140+ items.
Beyond just all of the cosmetic items, you will also be able to play a new Horde mode called Junkenstein’s Revenge co-op event.
All of this is accessible for free to participants on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Of course, you can also purchase Loot Boxes to get your hands on more items; these aesthetics are only acquirable for the length of the event, though they’ll presumably return once again next year. This means that you can use the items while the event is going on, but once the event is over, that’s it. you cannot keep your skins.
Personally, I think it makes more sense, in terms of this event, to earn the skins and items, rather than buy them since they are not a year-round thing. But, hey that’s up to you! If you do buy loot boxes on the game, you can purchase Battle.net codes or Xbox Live currency to do so.
