I remember being on Facebook a few years ago and these “farming simulators” were all the rage. I was honestly never interested. I guess I would rather kill things on Xbox One than keep things alive on Facebook hah. But, the genre was one that was loved by millions. So much so, that console developers actually started to get on to the bandwagon and created games such as;
Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns – Nintendo DS
Farming Simulator 17
While the games above specifically deal with farming, there ARE sub-categories like Slime Rancher that deal with farming, but also other aspects. I actually play and like Slime Rancher so I thought I would mention that one as well!
The other very popular farming simulator is StarDew Valley. One of the biggest reasons Gamers Elite wasn’t even bothering to write about this one was because of the fact that Nintendo quite literally JUST approved it to be on the new Nintendo Switch and quickly after that gave up an actual release date.
StarDew Valley Description: You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of live have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!
StarDew Valley might sound familiar to you and if you play games like this, it probably does! Its available already on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The release date for StarDewValley on Nintendo Switch is slated to be released tomorrow. However, it seems that (for now) you can only purchase the game in the Nintendo store, not on any websites unfortunately. Including throughout this article are images from the game that include XB1 and PS4, assuming that the Nintendo Switch version will look exactly the same.
StarDew Valley, again, will be available tomorrow and the price will be $14.99.
