Surviving Mars might not be a game you’ve heard a lot about, but it’s definitely a game you’ll want to check out. First and foremost it’s a strategy/sim game. It kind of reminds me of the SIMS meets Tropico meets Cities; Skylines except the entire game plays on, you guessed it, Mars.
“The first humans to call Mars their new home will need to be our best, brightest, and most eager. Sign up today to be first in line for news and updates about Surviving Mars and earn special in-game rewards — and potentially name an in-game colonist!
It’s going to take a lot of materials to build your new colony — and a call home for a resupply won’t exactly come with next-day shipping! To survive and thrive on Mars, you’ll need to know what local resources you have to rely on.
Before your human colonists arrive, they’ll need a place to hang their helmets. Construct, customize, and control habitat domes, and give your residents a place to work and play. Oh, and a place to breathe, too; that’s important.
You may not be alone on the red planet — each playthrough has the option of adding a randomly selected “Mystery” plot event that can dramatically alter the course of your colony. Inspired by science-fiction stories from Asimov and Clarke, the Mysteries of Mars can lead to grand discoveries… or devastation!”
Surviving Mars is going to be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, so far the release date for PC is March 15th and for consoles, you have a release date of March 20th.
Beyond just announcing a more specific release date, Surviving Mars also put out a brand new trailer, which you can check out below.
One of the reasons I really like this game is that while its essentially in the same category as the games I mentioned above, it’s also in its own playing field – its creative, its unique without being confusing, the soundtrack goes well with the game.
I am really looking forward to when its released and to see what other gamers say about it.
If you would like to pre-order it, you can click one of any images in this post or check out the direct links below. By the way, Surviving Mars will be $40 on Xbox One and PS4 and Steam will have Surviving Mars available for $40 as well.
