Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands PvP…

Ill be the first one to admit I love Ubi. Over the years they have become one of my favorite gaming companies. I own and love:

ALL the old Rainbow Six games for Xbox Original (ALL OF THEM!)
ALL the old Splinter Cell games for Xbox Original
Brothers in Arms for Xbox Original
Almost ALL the Assassins Creeds for 360
The Crew – and soon to be The Crew 2 in 2018
ALL the GR and RS games for 360
Trials Fusion
Tetris (don’t judge I love that game!)
etc

But, something sort of odd has been happening these past few months and enough is enough!

Let me first start off by saying: I have no interest in PVP. In fact? I could care less about PVP. But what I do care about are video games and the people, such as yourself, playing them and expecting certain things.

Since the first announcement of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands they have touted that there would be several ways you could play. Co-op of course with friends, Co-op with randos, by yourself, and with PvP. However, here we are months later – the game was released March 7th, and still no PvP.

Over the past few months everyone and their mother has been asking where it is. Ubi always replies that it will “be here soon.”

On their Facebook page on July 21st they stated that they would be having PvP for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands in the Fall. Not only that, but that they would not be releasing it right off the bat, but that they would be having a beta.

A beta. For an option that was already promised to be in the game.

Um. What?

Anyone with a brain can clearly tell one of two things happened along the way

1- They lied. They either lied to fans of the series about the inclusion of PvP because they knew they would make more sales, but they really knew that it would not be included in the release.

or

2- Something happened. Something wasnt working. Someone got fired. Maybe. I don’t know.

I would LOVE to give them the benefit of the doubt, but something fishy is going on here and I don’t think we will ever really know the truth. I mean would can you imagine the CEO of Ubi making an announcement: Dear Ubisoft players. We &*(^%$ up.

Hahaha. Nah. That would never happen. But, something is definitely up. And why have a beta for it? Like who’s decision was it to have a beta for a feature that was already supposed to be in the game? The beta is free, but is PvP free? We don’t really know much of anything right now.

What we do know is this:

– The open beta is free and will be available on ALL platforms at the end of the summer.

– The actual release of the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands PvP will supposedly be in the fall.

– The name of the PvP is called Ghost War and it features a 4vs4 game.

– You will be able to choose from varios classes; Sniper, Scout. Tannk, and more. Each class will, of course, have its own specializations, weapons and abilities.

– The maps will be “open environment” maps and they will have weather variations and different times of the day when you play. So you might be playing in the jungle, in the rain at night or the town, in the sun, in the morning.

Here is the trailer for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost War:

“Our objective with Ghost War was to build upon the main game’s elements of co-op team play and open, tactical game play,” said Lead Game Designer Lucian Istrate. To expand the tactical tool-set, the team has added a new suppression system that affects your vision while you’re under heavy fire, and implemented new sound markers to help players locate their enemies’ position. Istrate cautions that “all of these elements will make team play, communication, and strategic skills more crucial than ever.”

Ill believe it when I see it.  And if they make their players, the ones who want PvP, pay for this?  Well… I don’t want to be there for that.  People will be really pissed if that happens!
